  • It is bewildering to me how quickly the manufacturers gave up on 3D instead of continuing to improve the technology and make it more ubiquitous.

  • Got an idea - how about checking ferrofluid in slow mo?

  • I love how he explains the concepts and history of the technology before diving into the actual topic of the video. I wish more teachers were like him.

  • ardown.info/down/eZticnLHzHfFyZ4/fydyw.html

  • Hey guys please explain cold welding techniques.

  • Everyone talking about the headphone jack gag, yet no-one's acknowledging that Gav watches GTARP like a true chad. @The Slow Mo Guys Who you watching, and why is it SilentSentry?

  • Wow.

  • I've got a 2011 Era Samsung 3D LED TV with active glasses,, and it's pretty cool. I don't watch much 3D stuff anymore as like you said they have pretty much abandoned the tech but the few movies I do have are super cool tocwatch still!

  • You can also cross your eyes and get the image to focus with the side by side videos.

  • 7:03 best part of the video

  • I'm not even sensitive to flashing things but at 45 seconds I thought I was going to lose my lunch.

  • Gavin you look like James McAvoy i swear haha im watching narnia the lion witch and the wardrobe at first i fort it was u !

  • Show this to epileptic people, highly recommended

  • Gav, my wife approves that you finally cut your hair

    • I have a 3D projector. Jurassic Park 3D is pretty good

  • Where is Dan ?

  • why are you alone in your videos???

  • An "Hour Glass" in slow motion!!

  • So can someone clue me in on where Dan is? Is he okay?

  • Hope gav can read this... How about a slow mo of blowing a candle using punch

  • I was 10 years old, it was 1993. Nobody reading this would probably believe this but I myself came up with the idea of using liquid crystal glasses to filter two separate video streams into the eyes using a time controlled system. Initially the purpose was to enable two people in the same room to watch two separate programs on a single screen by wearing a pair of these glasses which would filter the correct frame from the correct show to the person who wanted it and each wearing headphones so they could hear the show they wanted.

  • Gavin! Please come up with some way we can see COLD WELDING in slow mo! A little video so you know what I mean ardown.info45Z6GbRMUY0?feature=share

  • flashing images and way to many users on ARdown don’t warn about this.

  • Crazy how ppl even build those things

  • very cool. I've always wondered why my 3d glasses needed batteries.

  • So if I could wink fast enough I wouldn’t need the glasses?

  • I had a laptop with nvidia 3d (active), and I could see the frequency of the lights. The flourescenet tubes were just constantly going dim to bright.

    • LMFAO the last bit where you couldn't find a hole for the 3.5mm jack and you threw that useless iphone away...pure gold Gavin, pure gold.

  • i used to have those glasses

  • triple adds before a video is a new low for youtube... hope you guys get your fair share of this annoyance

  • I have a 3D projector. Jurassic Park 3D is pretty good

  • How do the glasses synchronize with the TV?

  • You should do a video of florescent/neon lights flickering on.

  • A haircut...finally 👍🏻

  • All that happened just one frame😲😲

  • The Slow Mo Guy*

  • I learned something today.

  • Where is Dan btw????

  • The perspective of wall-e

  • Slow Mo for how the Nintendo 3DS does its 3D eye tracking without the need of glasses?

  • I think your Channel name should be:: The backbencher guys 😳

  • LMFAO the last bit where you couldn't find a hole for the 3.5mm jack and you threw that useless iphone away...pure gold Gavin, pure gold.

  • wow

  • "Advanced winking". That's a great science term.

  • HE NO LONGER LOOKS LIKE HOMELESS JESUS!!

  • Do a skipping rock video!!

    • I'd love to see the stopping power of a shepherd's sling in slow mo, would need an expert though, takes ages to get accurate with it but it can take the top of a man's head off.

  • My eyes are killing me lmao

  • I don't know if you've done this, but I would love to know how the 3D works on the Nintendo 3DS.

  • Hello Sir, I want to see "1 Inch Punch" in Slow Motion. Because they do it very fast at speed of Light.

  • "our videos" WHERES DAN!!?

  • Aww I can't watch, photo sensitive epilepsy.. Unless I video myself watching it then upload my convulsive response, that should get some views! :)

  • shoot a spinning sawblade

  • Thank you for the warning at the beginning of the video

  • I miss Dan...

  • What about the 3ds?

  • Team monocular vision, assemble!!!

  • 3d video is still the best. Just need MIT to release that screen they came.up with years ago.

  • that good bye was op

  • Please do "bullet spins on ice"

  • I'd love to see the stopping power of a shepherd's sling in slow mo, would need an expert though, takes ages to get accurate with it but it can take the top of a man's head off.

  • 3d on a 100" projector is amazing!

  • Why don't the TV and the active shutter glasses have to be synchronized?

  • fb.watch/5jND-8Mo7h/ slow mo this

  • Those 3D TV's were way ahead of their time. I worked at Best Buy when they started all the 3d stuff and it was ridiculously expensive. I remember we had a 50" 3D Panasonic Plasma display that was like $2,600. And each pair of glasses was like $150. Like you said in the video, it probably would do better now since tv prices have plummeted since then.

  • The sub field drive sounds so cool

  • Collab with HowNotToHighline about braking carabiners in Super Slow Motion?

  • Bruh its been a long time , Happy to see u , Love from kerala , India

  • Loving it

  • 3d tv, remember them? they even made 3d smartphones. lol where are they now? :D

  • Coolest thing I've seen with shutter lense tech was a local multiplayer racing game that didn't need split screen. Each player was only shown their frames

  • Glassesless 3D could bring it back, similar to the 3DS. Maybe you could check one of those out!!!! (3ds i mean :) )

  • Gav Saying goodbye made me worry ..

  • Super cool! I dug learning how the plasma TV worked, too. Sub frame drive...that sounds like something from Star Trek. BTW what streamer were you watching at the end?

  • @7:04 killed me. Thanks Gav. I'm now dead.

  • I am out until Dan’s back. Why he couldn’t be a zoom call on an iPad during any of this is bizarre.

  • I bought a Samsung 3D TV like 10 years ago and it still works great very happy with it just as you said so sad it didn't catch on at the time I got it because I was hoping this would be the new developing technology

  • This channel has sadly turned into The Slo Mo Guy

  • Y’all should do a video on wood turning

  • So doing something with Dan yet? Just call him once... Why did he just disappear

  • I love the disguised toss of the phone once u realized there is no head phone Jack.🤣🤣

  • I still watch films on my 3D TV. Just hoping it lasts, as it's great for film nights.

  • I used to love 3D tvs and 3D entertainment! I convinced my parents to get a 3D tv back in like 2008 or something and they handed it down to me just a month or two ago and it's such understood technology. Get a 3D screen and a movie designed for 3D and youll be a fan, that is unless you get headaches.

  • What if the glasses somehow messed up, and the left eye view the image that should be viewed by the right eye, and vice versa?

  • Like has been slopped.

  • So I just found this channel an hour ago and I'm a bit confused. You're telling me Dan lives in the UK and Gav lives in USA and Dan comes to USA to film the videos and then fly back out??? And they started the channel so that Gav can have a visa to come to USA?? *Incredible*. This is literally the most wholesome channel I ever found. (can some long time fan please verify this info and please feel free to add to some of my knowledge).

    • @Anxious Blobfish ooh i'll check it out! Thanks!

    • You are correct! If you haven't found it already, they have a second channel with behind the scenes stuff, they talk about it a little bit there. 😊

  • They call me ukk they call me ewwkk they call me ughhk they call me ickk that's not my name, that's not my name, that's not my namee

  • 7:03 had me laughing way harder than I should've

  • where is Dan?

  • PLEASE DO A VIDEO OF A FROGFISH ATTACK

  • No wonder these gave me an instant migraine

  • RIP 3D and Curved TVs

    • i'm so happy gav used into the spider-verse to showcase this, the film is a masterpiece

  • coool

  • 7:05 poor i phone lol

  • How about 'FLYING RODS', guys?

  • Just watched the guys at Demolition Ranch vapourise a 12' diameter polished obsidian ball with a 50 cal BMG. Love to see that on super slo-mo.

  • what happened to dan ?

  • awsome

  • I ended up with a 3D tv, my parents bought 3D capable movies, and we had a PS3 which was capable of 3D Bluray playback. My parents never got around to buying the glasses because they were like $60 each.

  • Slo mo guys used to be good but now its 😴 😴 😴 😴

  • It’s a nice thing that you have the warning about flashing images at the beginning of the video. It’s not a problem for me, but I know people who do have problems looking at flashing images and way to many users on ARdown don’t warn about this.

  • since i am blind in the right eye 3D is useless tech to me

  • 3D TVs were not a gimmick IMO they were so cool. I loved them sad that they all went away.
